Andrew Grant and Julia Allen were invited to Buckingham Palace on Thursday 28th June, to collect their Queen’s Award for Innovation in honour of the Samson Nano.
They were honoured to meet HRH Prince Charles, and have a brief discussion with him about the business.
Samuel Grant were awarded the Queen’s Award for Innovation in recognition of the innovative Samson Nano pallet wrapping system, which with its inbuilt reporting software and capacity to dramatically reduce the waste and consumption of plastic wrap, coupled with the unique ‘price per pallet’ costing system, is unique to the industry. Samson Nano alone has contributed dramatically to the business’s turnover in the last few years, and has definitely opened doors for the team in larger businesses. The award has given the team a huge boost since it was announced in April – here’s what some of them had to say… Simon Charlesworth, Warehouse, Sheffield – “I class working for Samuel Grant Packaging as my extended family and that makes me proud. The recognition that this award brings from both inside and outside the company further cements our reputation as an industry leader. It gives customers the confidence that they are dealing with an innovative company.” Later in the year, the Sheffield branch will welcome a representative from the Royal Family to the premises, more on that later.
