PackSynergy network reaches out to Switzerland and the Baltic States.

Europe’s biggest network of medium-sized, owner-managed packaging retailers was further strengthened on March 1, when Switzerland and the Baltic States became the newest members of the PackSynergy network. Coplax Verpackungen AG and SOMI UAB take the network’s total membership to 20 regional mid-market leaders with around 40 facilities in 18 countries. CEO Thomas A. Baur, who in future will manage the association as a network brand, sees PackSynergy as a key competitive instrument for packaging SMEs in Europe.

Samuel Grant Packaging launch new safer Samson Nano Ferret

From the hugely successful Samson Nano pallet wrapping system, the Ferret was launched in 2018 by Samuel Grant Packaging. Developed as a solution to wrapping big or awkward pallets, as it drives around the pallet as opposed to requiring a turntable, the Ferret range has now been extended into a new style with added safety features.

Once again the Samuel Grant team rolled up their sleeves and headed down to Birmingham’s NEC to exhibit at the annual PPMA (Packaging and Processing Machinery Association) Show

The show covered three days from the 26th September, and our bright yellow Samson Nano pallet wrapping machine stood out well amongst the gleaming stainless steel of our fellow exhibitors. Our position just outside the bathrooms ensured a constant footfall of visitors to the stand, many of whom were interested in the Samson Nano’s CapEx free pallet wrapping system which is unique to Samuel Grant Packaging. In total nine members of staff covered the show, and having brought away a huge spreadsheet of interested contacts, it was well worth our visit, and something which we shall be considering for next year

Celebrating the fabulous Lorraine Lapping – 40 years with Samuel Grant and counting

In 1977 when Lorraine Lapping first joined Grant’s, she didn’t imagine she would last very long. Her Mum worked in the packing department for Samuel Grant and Lorraine had just left school. With only a Saturday job to talk about, her Mum was keen to help her get into full time work, and saw an opening arise at Grant’s for an office junior. Lorraine went for the interview, more to please her Mum than anything else, and Douglas Smith offered her the job there and then.

In 2016 Samuel Grant Packaging were asked to sponsor Kippax Badminton Club, of which our Assistant Warehouse Manager Tim Howcroft is the club Chairman. We were more than happy to put some funds towards the team hoodies, which now sport our logo. Since we have been sponsoring the club they have gone from strength to strength, winning a number of group and individual titles, including the Castleford & District Mixed Division 1 title, and the Leeds & District Men's Division 2 title.
